Roxana Monemdjou Quoted in The Record about Trademark Dispute Over Random Acts of Kindness

Roxana Monemdjou is quoted in an article about a trademark opposition between the Kitchener and Waterloo Community Foundation and an American non-profit group called the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation. The KW foundation was unsuccessful before the Trademarks Opposition Board in their opposition to the American group's Canadian trademark application to register RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS FOUNDATION as a trademark. The KW foundation has appealed the decision of the Trademarks Opposition Board to the Federal Court.

Orin is an IP lawyer and registered patent agent who practises in all areas of intellectual property law, with a focus on patent drafting and patent prosecution. Prior to joining Heer Law, Orin worked for seven years as TD Bank's sole in-house patent counsel. Prior to that, he spent eight years in private practice at full service and intellectual property boutique law firms in Toronto and Vancouver as well as working as a sole practitioner.
