Michelle is pursuing intellectual property law because she enjoys drawing on her pre-law technical background to help innovators protect their creative works and enforce their intellectual property rights.
Michelle studies at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law. During her 1L summer, she was a Senior Clinic Fellow at the IP Osgoode Innovation Clinic, where she conducted prior art and trademark searches for budding innovators. In her 2L year, Michelle learned about the business of start-ups through the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Externship. Also, as an active member of a public interest legal clinic, Michelle has led workshops on basic financial literacy for vulnerable communities.
Michelle graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Genetics and Biotechnology. Her time as a research student at SickKids has shaped her interest in complex technical subject matter.
