Overview

Maria is the Receptionist and Intake Coordinator at Heer Law, where she serves as the first point of contact for clients and assists them through the initial stages of their legal matters. She joined the firm in March 2026, bringing with her a strong background in client service and legal intake.

Past Employment

Prior to joining Heer Law, Maria worked at Collins and Metcalfe as a Legal Assistant for Landlord and Tenant Board matters and as the firm’s primary Intake Coordinator. In this role, she managed client intake processes, coordinated case information, and supported legal proceedings, developing a solid foundation in landlord and tenant law.

Education

Maria completed the Accelerated Paralegal Program at Seneca Polytechnic in August 2025, where she gained practical legal knowledge and hands-on training. Her interest in the legal field began earlier during her time at Cox & Palmer in Summerside, where she worked as a Legal Receptionist.

Before pursuing a career in law, Maria earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo, strengthening her analytical thinking and communication skills. She is committed to providing a welcoming and supportive experience for clients while ensuring an efficient and organized intake process.
